Doug McKinney is a graduate of Clemson University and has worked in the insurance industry since 1975. He and his wife Sandy established McKinney Insurance Agency in Asheville in 1981. Since that time, Doug has grown to become one of only three Nationwide "Hall of Fame" members in the state for the #1 property and casualty insurance company in North Carolina. Doug has received numerous agency accolades, including Nationwide All-Star Team Member (five times), Conference of Champions Award (30+ times), Million Dollar Round Table Qualifier and Council Awards for Auto, Commercial, and Life. He is licensed in NC, SC, TN, GA, AL, KY, OH, VA and supervises all product lines.

Born and raised in Asheville, NC, Chad McKinney graduated with a degree in Insurance and Risk Management from the Fisher School of Business at Ohio State University in 2005. Chad became Primary Agent for McKinney Insurance in 2012 after 7 years of working in the family agency. Chad currently has his Property and Casualty license in NC, SC, TN, GA, KY, OH and VA as well as being Life licensed in NC, SC, GA and CA. He has his Series 6 & 63 licenses and also his Long Term Care and Medicare Supplement license. Chad's goal is to provide the ultimate level of customer service for all McKinney Insurance customers and encourages all customers to give him their feedback on their experience with the agency. Chad was married in 2011 to his wife Lauren and they live in South Asheville.

Tisha began work for Wausau Insurance Co in 1982, as a file clerk. She was then promoted to customer service representative, handling questions, changes and problems for clients from about 45 states. She also worked briefly as a claims adjuster, before taking time off to be with her children. In 1989, her family relocated to the Asheville area. In 1991, she began working at the McKinney Agency, first on the front desk, as well as handling personal automobile, and mobile home policies, and processing life and health applications. Several years later she began working in the commercial department and at that point was the only commercial employee. During the years, the agency's commercial business has grown to the point where we now have 4 representatives working full time to assist our business clients!

Tanya joined the McKinney team in 1998 and has earned the position of Auto Manager. Tanya has over 15 years experience in selling and servicing auto insurance. She excels in customer service, and makes client satisfaction her top priority. Tanya and the entire team work hard to ensure the customers needs are met. Working closely with customers and developing one on one relationships are important to her. Tanya and her team can help with any of your auto needs!

Zach Fleming, Financial Advisor, joined McKinney Insurance Services in 2010 and has 17 years experience in financial risk management including corporate insurance loss mitigation.  Over the past 13 years, Zach has been helping families in WNC secure their financial goals. Zach possesses B.S. and M.A. degrees and utilizes state-of-the-art retirement income planning tools and a range of financial solutions together with a well-defined process to help clients with portfolio development, tax minimization, asset protection and wealth transfer. He is a Registered Investment Advisor for fee-based investment solutions in addition to being securities licensed for stocks, bonds (including tax-free municipal bonds), mutual funds, annuities and life insurance. Zach is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor^SM designee of the College of Financial Planning. He specializes in insurance-based retirement plans and using recently developed insurance products to secure lifetime retirement income for his clients.

Kim Goforth is the office manager of our West Asheville location at 1056 Haywood Rd. She has worked in the insurance industry since 1979; 16 of those years for the McKinney Agency. She prides herself on customer service and she is always available to help you during our normal business hours or after hours by appointment. She has been married for 27 years and has one son and one grandson. She is active in the church and very family oriented. She says she truly enjoys her job because she is passionate about helping others. She loves talking to people and would truly appreciate the opportunity to handle your business. She will go the extra mile and do whatever it takes to assist you with your insurance needs. 

Scott has been an Associate Agent of McKinney Insurance Services for the past 6 years. He is a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Business Management & Applied Human Sciences. He was the founding President of the Colorado State University CMAA Student Chapter. Recipient of the Club Managers Association of America Award of Distinction. He has over 10 years of management experience in providing client services. Licensed in Property & Casualty.
