McKinney Insurance was established in 1981 by Doug and Sandy McKinney. The business is family owned and operated, with Doug being the Principal Agent, Sandy being the Office Manager, and their son Chad being the Vice President.

Doug McKinney is a graduate of Clemson University and has worked in the insurance industry since 1975. He established McKinney Insurance Agency in Asheville in 1981. Since that time, Doug has grown to become one of only two "Hall of Fame" members in the state for the #1 property and casualty insurance company in North Carolina. Doug has received numerous agency accolades, including All-Star Team Member (five times), Conference of Champions Award (25+ times), Million Dollar Round Table Qualifier and Council Awards for Auto, Commercial, and Life. He is licensed in and manages all product lines.
Chad McKinney
Vice President
Born and raised in Asheville, NC, Chad McKinney graduated with a degree in Insurance and Risk Management from the Fisher School of Business at Ohio State University. He interned for two years at Nationwide Corporate Headquarters in Columbus, OH. He is a specialist in all product lines, including Commercial, Life, Financial, and Personal. Chad is licensed in Property and Casualty (since '01), Life and Health, Series 6 and 63.
Sandy McKinney
Office Manager/Principal Agent
Sandy McKinney has more than 30 years of insurance experience. In addition to serving as office manager, Sandy is a property and casualty specialist.
